WAUKESHA, WI; OCTOBER 14, 2026 - SafanDarley North America President Matt Garbarino has been named to the Board of Directors of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA). With more than 30 years of experience in the metal fabrication industry, Garbarino brings a wealth of knowledge and practical industry insight to his new role.

Throughout his career, Garbarino has worked closely with manufacturers, helping them improve shop floor efficiency and stay competitive. As a member of the FMA board, he'll bring that experience to some of the industry's biggest challenges, from finding skilled workers and navigating shifting tariffs and trade policies to meeting environmental regulations, pursuing sustainability goals, and keeping pace with emerging technologies.

“FMA has a long history of bringing people together and helping move our industry forward, so I'm excited to be part of that effort,”

said Garbarino.

“I've spent much of my career working with fabricators, and I know how important it is to share ideas, learn from one another, and find practical solutions to the challenges manufacturers face. I'm looking forward to working with the other board members and contributing wherever I can.”

Edward Youdell, president and CEO of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, noted that Garbarino’s leadership will help advance the association's mission while strengthening its support for the metal fabrication industry.

“Matt has extensive experience in helping metal fabrication industry job shops and manufacturers solve problems and improve their operational performance.  Coupled with his longstanding personal commitment to supporting First Responders and Veterans make him an outstanding choice to join the FMA Board.  Matt has demonstrated a history of service to others, and that is the essence of FMA Board participation.  We are delighted to welcome Matt to the Board and are confident he will make significant contributions to both our industry’s and FMA’s ongoing success”.

Bringing Experience to FMA

Garbarino's background spans machine tools, automation, software, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Over the years, he's held leadership positions in sales, marketing, product development, and business management, giving him a firsthand understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing metal fabricators.

Today, as president of SafanDarley North America, he oversees the company's operations in the United States and Canada, with a focus on helping manufacturers take advantage of advanced sheet metal forming technologies while building strong customer relationships and industry partnerships.
